The Mexican energy sector has faced numerous changes through the past years caused by the constitutional reform of the energy sector. CMS Woodhouse Lorente Ludlow has been at the forefront of this change, having advised the Mexican Government on the implementation of the Wholesale Electricity Market and the restructuring of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), including the drafting of the Electricity Market Bases and Business Practice Manuals, as well as private clients on the structuring, design and implementation of energy related projects.
Our team works within every part of the energy sector, including upstream and downstream oil and gas, electricity in all its forms, including generation, networks, wholesale and retail markets, and renewables, including solar and other green energy.
In oil and gas we have experience advising companies in the exploration phase, in development and production, transport and distribution of natural gas concessions, refineries, storage terminals, transport and distribution of natural gas, supply and transportation of natural gas contracts, contracts for the use of pipelines, EPC contracts, license agreements, concession contracts, and all else related to the business, from the extraction of the hydrocarbons in the fields, all the way to commercialization.
CMS Woodhouse Lorente Ludlow’s energy team works regularly with global colleagues. CMS’s global reach covers 41 countries and provides international advice in all areas of the energy sector.
